How to Merge PDF Files
When application forms, contract attachments or scanned pages arrive as separate PDFs, combining them makes sharing and archiving easier. A proper merge changes the document structure without rebuilding every page as an image.
Steps to merge PDFs
Open the PDF Merge tool and select the files you want to combine. Drag the uploaded files into the required order; the output document follows that sequence.
Start the merge, download the result and check the first and last pages. For formal submissions, confirm that the cover, main form and attachments appear in the requested order.
Does merging reduce quality?
A merge does not need to render PDF pages as new images. Existing text, vectors and images can therefore retain their original quality. Quality may change only if you apply separate compression afterwards.
Why file order matters
File names do not always reflect the intended reading order. Naming files 01-cover, 02-form and 03-attachment before uploading reduces mistakes. Adding page numbers to the final PDF can also make review easier.
Quick checklist
- ✓Check that you have not included both an old and a new version of the same document.
- ✓Password-protected PDFs may need to be unlocked first.
- ✓If the result is too large, use PDF Compress after merging.
